Our exploration activities across the North Mara project are focused on identifying near-mine open-pit and underground extensions of the known and new gold deposits on our regional targets.
ABG holds around 700 km2 of prospecting licences and applications over the Archaean Mara-Musoma greenstone belt. This area hosts diverse deposit styles and in excess of 10 million ounces of known gold endowment.
To date, three economically viable modern gold deposits have been identified and exploited in the region:
- Gokona
- Nyabigena
- Nyabirama
All are currently open-pit operations and all have the potential to develop into underground mines in the future.
